The First Day of Running

Wow, vacation was amazing. It was great to get away and relax in the warm tropical sun. I hope you enjoyed some of the posts over the last week. I'll be posting pictures from the trip and Halloween party this week.
Today starts my first day of running training. I am not running for a 5k, 10k, or triathlon but I am running to do something for myself and my health. I could stand to loose about 20 lbs. and I know I need to move more. So this is the perfect opportunity to do so. My husband and I are doing the Couch to 5K program.  It's a great guide to folllow if you are a first time running, like me, or someone who hasn't run in ages. I'll keep you updated on my process both good and bad, and how I feel the program helps. I encourge you all to run along with me. You can run in your house, neighborhood, or city locations and keep track on your own blog. Also, send me your stats, results, pros and cons. That way we keep eachother accountable!

Have a great day everyone and check back for more pictures from the vacation!

I know a couple of people who have started that program. I started my "fit" program about a month and a half back to get back into shape and have been running some. I kind of messed up one of my ankles though...because my old running shoes are badly in need of replacing. I have over pronating ankles and need a good stability shoe. I enjoy running as long as I have good scenery and/or good music to listen too...otherwise it can kind of drag on.

I guess that is the best piece of advice I received before starting... Get a Good Pair of Shoes!! I went to a running store and had my feet properly fitted.
And Yes, I need to get some music going. My hubby likes to talk while running.. but I don't :)
